From blood to insight, continuously.
Prolepsis is in early development. This is the system we are building toward, starting with patients who already have implanted ports.
Initial focus: lactate and core metabolic markers
Lactate and a subset of the comprehensive metabolic panel are the most achievable first targets for a sensor that sits in the bloodstream. Together they can help flag problems like dehydration, kidney strain, electrolyte imbalance and early signs of infection between scheduled blood draws.
Complete blood counts and tumor markers are longer-term goals, not part of the first device.

How it is designed to work
01
Sense
A micro-sensor at the port reads key blood biomarkers, starting with lactate and core metabolic markers.
02
Transmit
Readings are sent wirelessly and encrypted to a secure companion app.
03
Analyze
Software looks at trends over time, not single snapshots, and highlights meaningful changes.
04
Alert
Patients and their care team get early warnings, designed to fit into existing clinical workflows.
Where we are, and the risk we are honest about
Today: benchtop feasibility, provisional IP and recruiting a technical co-founder. Next: a port-based prototype with bench and preclinical testing, then the FDA pathway (pre-submission, preclinical studies and an early feasibility trial), then clinical validation.
Continuous in-body metabolic sensing is unsolved and hard. That is the core research risk we are working on, starting small and safely in patients who already have vascular access.
